Alan Harrel

Alan's Testimony

“My name is Alan Harrell and this is some of my testimony of how Jesus Christ saved me.

When I was younger I remember never feeling like I fit in anywhere, in school or with my
family. When I was 14 or 15 l began experimenting with drugs and alcohol. And by the time I
was 17 l had done most of the hard drugs.

By 20 years old, I was a full-blown oxycontin
addicted needle junky. For the next 15 years, that was my life; morphine, methadone, and
crack was all I studied. Around 2015 l traded in both of those addictions for
methamphetamine. In 2016 I got together with my wife, Casey. However, because of the
drugs our relationship was a disaster filled with violence, drug addiction, hatred, and
hopelessness. I also had gotten a felony gun charge and sales of
methamphetamine charge during this time; which resulted in plenty of jail time. I was a liar,
a thief, an adulterer, and a very violent, very angry, needle junky. In April, Casey left me to go
to rehab at the Fusion Recovery Ministry for women. Our marriage was on the brink of
divorce and I had exhausted all other options and resources that I knew. So on May 7th I
went to Redemption Road in Gray, Kentucky. It was there that I got saved and baptized in
Cumberland River. It’s been 4 years since then and I know that l will never go back. I have
more joy and peace than I ever knew was possible, and I feel like God is continually pouring
out His blessings on me. My wife and I are now living together again and are so very happy.
We are also both in full-time ministry and want to share our faith in Jesus Christ and what
He has done for us and can do for others that are as lost as we were. I thank God for coming
after me. Even when I was at my worst, He still wanted me so much that He sent His son to
suffer and die on the cross so that I could be redeemed.”
